Nikki Cross tucked her two young children into bed on the evening of September 14th 2015. Her husband was working away from home, so she had the whole house to herself. She began to relax when she was suddenly disturbed by noises outside. There she discovered an unknown male peering through the window, before he began pounding on the door, demanding to be let inside. Just minutes later, the man smashed his way inside of the home, armed with two knives. Nikki did everything she could to protect her two sleeping children, and her husband, 200 miles away and totally helpless, horrifyingly listened to everything on the other end of Nikki’s phone.
