Kelsey Caine and I connected because we have both competed in pageants. I was Miss Subways 2017, but Kelsey competed in an actual beauty pageant! Miss New York! Anyway it was snowing like a motherf*cker and Kelsey was about 35 minutes late. I had to hold down the fort with stories about bra shopping and a conversation with a call-in baker in Nova Scotia. Kelsey did give us a back scene view of the pageant world from the most HILARIOUS perspective—she was competing in the most subversive way, stained ball gown, etc. Really entertaining and enlightening on how women are treated in these situations.
