詳細信息
On the night of June 4th 2020, police were called to the home of 26-year-old Chantel Moore to do a wellness check. But what should have been an encounter to ensure her safety and well-being, ended in the murder and death of the very person the RCMP were called to protect, adding more scrutiny to be raised against police brutality and the systemic racism towards Indigenous people. This is the case of Chantel Moore. Canada has a very important day coming up on September 30th: Truth and Reconciliation Day. This was made a federal holiday on June 3, 2021 after the horrifying discovery of 215 unmarked child graves at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. In just 4 months, 1836 total unmarked graves have been found. And combined with the 3,213 children who died according to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, that makes the total over 5,000.
