This week, AXELOS' Allan Thomson and Consultant Richard Rose continue their conversation about key roles for programme management within MSP 5th edition. This time, the focus is on the relationship between Senior Responsible Owner and the Business Change Manager.

In this episode, AXELOS' Akshay Anand is reinterpreting the Latin watchmen quote “Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” and asks, who manages the managers? In modern business this is the field of governance, which to many practitioners is a necessary organizational component, while to others is the cause of numerous and often infuriating blockers. Akshay explores these contradictions and attempts to reconcile them with the help of Mark Thomas (President, Escoute Consulting) and Shane Carlson (Director of Enterprise Architecture, ServiceNow). Knowledge Management” (KM) that most knowledge workers experience is often limited to a knowledge base tool (sometimes combined with a self-service portal). Or it might be an ancient repository of documents on a SharePoint site. To figure out how to improve this situation, we need to go back to basics, and answer the question “what IS KM, and why is it important?” In this episode, Akshay is joined by Aprill Allen (Independent Consultant and Angel Investor, Twitter @knowledgebird), Jon Stevens-Hall (Principal Product Manager, BMC Software, Twitter @JonStevensHall) and Dave Snowden (Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, Cognitive Edge, Twitter @snowded). Together, they explore the challenges and benefits of investing in KM, why old models and approaches are no longer fit for purpose, and unlearning. This episode also features a shoutout to Suresh GP (Managing Director, Taub Solutions, Twitter @sureshgp). Suresh is a very active member of the ITSM community in India and SE Asia. He also serves as a regional leader for the BRM institute, and as an Ambassador for the DevOps Institute.

In this episode, AXELOS' Allan Thomson speaks to Richard Rose about key roles for programme management within MSP 5th edition and the relationship between them. This week, the focus is on the Senior Responsible Owner and the Business Change Manager.

In this episode, AXELOS’ Akshay Anand is joined by Andrea Kis, Principal Consultant at Devoteam, Jay Srinivasan, CEO at atSpoke (recently acquired by Okta), and Ian Aitchison, VP Product Management at Nextthink to talk about the adoption and use cases of Enterprise Service Management (ESM). They’re also sharing tips to help organization succeed in their ESM programmes. This week’s “shout-out” goes to Kenneth ('Kengon') Gonzalez, a veteran of the US military, and of the IT/SM world. He's worked in software development, support and operations, and most recently has been an advisor to CEOs and CIOs around the world.

In this week's episode, AXELOS' Allan Thomson speaks to Elizabeth Harrin, project manager, author and owner of the blog Girl's Guide to PM, and Nicola Carroll, project manager at AXELOS, about what it's like for women in project management.

We're trying an interesting approach with this podcast. We solicited a question from the ITSM community on LinkedIn, and then approached an SME to answer it, and then to ask their own question. We've ended up building an episode around this ""daisy chain"", and we'd love to know what you think! We start with a question sent in by Mitch Pautz (Senior ITSM Analyst, University of Southern California), which Akshay uses to kick off the episode with Rob Akershoek (Chair of The Open Group IT4IT Forum). Rob then asked a question about value streams which was addressed by Daniel Breston (Independent ITSM consultant and coach) & Michelle Major-Goldsmith (Manager, Kinetic IT). Finally, Dan asked a question about talent management, which Akshay brought back to base to have a chat with AXELOS CEO Mark Basham and CCO Catherine Newman. This episode's shout-out is to Orian Mendes, a Business Development Manager at TSO, the official publisher of ITIL guidance.

This week, Akshay invited back guests from earlier ‘creative professionals’ episodes to reflect on the topic of creativity. Akshay and his guests Simone Jo Moore (Organizational Coach and ITIL 4 author), Sanjeev NC (Product Manager, SuperOps.ai) and Rob England (Management Consultant and Trainer) discuss why creativity is discouraged in the workplace and why this is almost always a bad thing. This week’s “shout-out” goes to Stephen Mann, who is the principal analyst and content director at itsm.tools, one of the best ITSM blogs. In this week’s podcast, AXELOS' Allan Thomson and Ruth Murray-Webster, Lead Editor of the MSP 5th edition, discusses the importance of the ‘Three Lines of Defence’ within MSP and how this owns corporate-level risk controls, measures and monitoring.

It's been a while since we featured some creative professionals on this podcast, and Akshay is thrilled to be speaking to a real rock band. Join him as he discusses the creative process with Alberto Martinez (guitar/ vocals) and Asheesh Khokha (drums) from St. Francis and The Wolf (https://www.sfandthewolfmusic.com/). Akshay is joined in the second half of the episode by Roy Atkinson (Twitter @royatkinson) and Karen Brusch (@Karen_Brusch) to debate how similar creative approaches can be found in IT/SM. This episode also features a shout-out to Andrea Kis (Twitter @AndieKis). Andrea is a Principal Consultant at Devoteam, advising clients and delivering innovative solutions to address ITSM, ESM and SIAM challenges.
