Takaaki is an associate professor at Ryukoku University in Kyoto, Japan, where he is in charge of a range of applied linguistics courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as supervising masters and doctoral students. She has been active in research on motivation in second language learning, and self-regulation in second language writing. Talia principally works as associate professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL in the Culture, Communication, and Media department at University College London’s Institute of Education. She’s also involved with leading assessment and consultancy projects on assessment and communication and regularly serves in an advisory role for different educational stakeholder groups both locally and internationally.
